Frisco, TX – FC Dallas (7-6-7, 28 points) falls to New York City FC (10-4-5, 35 points) 1-0 Wednesday night at Toyota Stadium.

SERIES RECORD AGAINST NEW YORK CITY FC

FC Dallas falls to 1-2-4 all-time against New York City FC. This was the first time Dallas dropped a home match at Toyota Stadium to NYCFC.


BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN

Dallas outshot New York 12-4 with both teams shooting once on target. FC Dallas had 1.22 expected goals compared to 0.94 for New York City as Dallas managed nine shots inside the box and two big chances with 28 touches inside the box. NYC managed two shots in the box and nine touches within the box. FC Dallas attempted 32 crosses to NYC’s two.

4-4-2 FORMATION

For the first time this season, head coach Nico Estévez strayed from his preferred 4-3-3 formation to start a match. Instead, he fielded a 4-4-2 with Franco Jara joining Homegrown Jesús Ferreira in attack to form a strike partnership.

Five FC Dallas Homegrowns featured in the match whether as a starter or substitute. Defender Eddie Munjoma, midfielder Edwin Cerrillo and forward Jesús Ferreira all started the match while midfielders Paxton Pomykal and Beni Redzic entered the match in the second half.
