PSG Declined Cristiano Ronaldo Approach - Reports

French giants Paris Saint-Germain recently rejected the possibility of signing five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo according to reports.

Ronaldo reportedly wants to leave Manchester United and his agent Jorge Mendes had approached PSG about a switch.

However, the Parisians declined the approach, despite Mendes’ close relationship with PSG sporting director Luis Campos and club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

A potential move to PSG would have seen Ronaldo link up with Lionel Messi for the first time ever.

However, PSG werent keen to add the veteran and don’t have the space on their wage bill according to reports, with Messi along with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe on their books.

PSG have recently appointed Christophe Galtier to replace Mauricio Pochettino as head coach, while re-signing Mbappe was a major piece of business amid strong interest from Real Madrid.

The French champions have signed Portuguese pair [Nuno Nendes and Vitinha from Sporting Lisbon and FC Porto respectively this off-season.

Ronaldo only joined United last August and is one season into a two-year deal but is believed to be disappointed by the club’s lack of ambition and failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Erik ten Hag took over at Old Trafford in the off-season, with the club yet to make any major signings, although they’ve been linked with Christian Eriksen, while Dutch left-back Tyrell Malacia has joined from Feyenoord.

United have seen Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard all leave the club after the conclusion of their contracts.

Off-contract Paul Pogba has moved to Juventus and Nemanja Matic has signed with AS Roma.
