Houston, TX – FC Dallas (7-5-7, 28 points) and Houston Dynamo FC (6-9-4, 22 points) brought the heat in the 50th edition of the Texas Derby. After 100+ minutes played, FC Dallas and Houston split points in a 2-2 draw that resulted in Dallas winning the 2022 Texas Derby. FC Dallas is 2-3-5 on the road this year.
THE TEXAS DERBY
The 50th edition of the Texas Derby saw Dallas and Houston battle to a 2-2 draw at PNC Stadium in Houston. Following tonight’s draw, FC Dallas regains El Capitán, the 18th-century mountain howitzer cannon, for the 2022 season. FC Dallas leads the all-time series 9-8.
SERIES RECORD AGAINST HOUSTON
The all-time record at Houston is 4-10-9. The last time FC Dallas won in Houston was a 3-1 win in August 2016. The home side has not lost any of the last 17 meetings (W8, D9).
LATE GOALS
Dallas have scored nine goals in the last 15 minutes of the second half, only Los Angeles FC (12) and LA Galaxy (10) have scored more in MLS this season. Jesús Ferreira’s goal in the 93rd minute was the latest goal scored by FC Dallas in 2022.
Houston Dynamo FC’s goal scored in the 101st minute was the latest goal conceded by FC Dallas this season, the latest non-penalty goal in MLS history.
