Everton prepared to rival Nottingham Forest as they ‘show late interest’ in Wolves man

Reported Everton target Morgan Gibbs-White during a match

Everton have sparked late interest in Wolves’ Morgan Gibbs-White, with Nottingham Forest also keen, according to reports.

Gibbs-White had a very productive spell on loan with Sheffield United last season.

Youri Tielemans is no-brainer bargain Arsenal or Manchester United should have signed already

He was voted as the club’s Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year after scoring 12 goals and providing ten assists.

The Blades were beaten by Nottingham Forest in the play-off semi-finals and will go again next year as they aim to return to the Premier League.

Interest in Gibbs-White is high with Forest boss Steve Cooper looking to bring him to the City Ground.

According to The Athletic, Everton have joined the Reds in the race to sign the England under-21 midfielder.

The Toffees have registered a ‘late interest’ and will rival Forest in pursuit of the Wolves man.

The Molineux club are believed to value the 22-year-old at £30million. He is out of contract in two years’ time.

Current Everton director of football and former Wolves academy manager and then technical director, Kevin Thelwell, has a ‘good relationship’ with the player, the report adds.

Following his terrific season with Sheff Utd, Wolves boss Bruno Lage ‘intends’ on fully integrating Gibbs-White into his first team.

Talks over a new deal at his new club are failing to progress, however. The 22-year-old’s contract situation means Wolves could cash in on him this summer.

Gibbs-White has been at the West Midlands club since he was eight years old and has made 66 league appearances for them.

Elsewhere, Southampton are ‘in negotations’ to sign Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo, according to David Ornstein.

Aribo is thought to be ‘keen’ on a move to St Mary’s and the clubs are currently negotiating a transfer fee.

The 25-year-old has a £10m release clause in his contract and Rangers are not willing to accept an offer below that value.

The Saints are ‘confident’ they can sign Aribo despite ‘one other club’ being in talks with the Gers.
