July 4, 2022 – Major League Soccer (MLS)Inter Miami CF News Release

Inter Miami CF drew 1-1 on the road against FC Dallas on Monday night. Heineken Man of the Match Leonardo Campana entered the match in the second half and scored Inter Miami’s equalizer in the 88th minute to help the team claim a point from its visit to Toyota Stadium.

Lineup Notes

Inter Miami made three changes to its starting XI from the team’s 2-1 home win against Minnesota United FC. Drake Callender started in goal; captain DeAndre Yedlin, Damion Lowe, Ryan Sailor and Chris McVey lined up in defense; Victor Ulloa, Robert Taylor and Jean Mota formed the midfield trio; and Indiana Vassilev and Ariel Lassiter flanked Gonzalo Higuaín in attack.

Mota, Vassilev and Higuaín returned to the starting XI in place of the suspended Gregore, Bryce Duke and Leonardo Campana. Vassilev recently made history with his brace against Minnesota in the team’s last match, becoming the first player in MLS history to score both a game-tying and game-winning goal after entering the game in the 80th minute or later. Ulloa, meanwhile, started against his former side after being an FC Dallas player from 2011 to 2018.

It was the hosts, however, that opened the scoring. In the 27th minute, a curled right-footed shot to the far post from outside the box by Alan Franco from a free kick opportunity found the back of the net to give Dallas a 1-0 lead.

Inter Miami was later forced to make a substitution before the half, with Emerson Rodríguez coming on for the injured Lassiter in the 40th minute. The scoreboard didn’t change during the remaining minutes of the first half, and the matchup went into the break with the 1-0 lead intact for the hosts.

The second half then began with Inter Miami slowly taking over ball possession and with Rodríguez and Taylor fuelling the team’s offense.

Rodríguez constantly created danger for the opposition’s defense with his speed, footwork and cutting runs. In the

65th minute, the Colombian winger received the ball on the right side outside the box before cutting in and serving a pass into space with…
