Chelsea star ‘in no rush to leave’ amid swap deal talk with Juventus defender valued at €100m

Chelsea star Christian Pulisic is reportedly ‘in no rush to leave’ the club amid talk of him joining Juventus as part of a swap deal with Matthijs de Ligt.

Pulisic signed for Chelsea at the start of 2019 for £58m from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.

The USA international has impressed in fits and starts for the Blues but he was only a bit-part player for them last term.

The Friday Mailbox brings reasons for optimism for every Prem club. Except four…

The 23-year-old only started 13 times in the Premier League last season. He grabbed eight goals and five assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are interested in signing Juventus centre-back De Ligt. He is understood to be valued at €100m.

Pulisic and Timo Werner have been brought up in negotiations over a potential swap deal.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Pulisic ‘does not want to leave’ Chelsea and he is ‘in no rush’ to exit the club this summer. He still has two years remaining on his contract at the Blues.

The report adds that Chelsea ‘expect to agree a deal’ to sell Hakim Ziyech, while Raheem Sterling is ‘likely’ to join them from Man City.

Elsewhere, Sevilla director Monchi claims “there are calls from everywhere” over a potential transfer for Chelsea target Jules Kounde.

Monchi is clearly eager to cash in on Kounde despite having also lost centre-back partner Diego Carlos to Aston Villa earlier in the window.

“Xavi has good taste wanting Araujo and Koundé as central defenders, it’s not a bad partnership,” Monchi told Onda Cero (via Mundo Deportivo).

“But so far there has been zero contact with Barcelona. I know that Chelsea have to look for two central defenders, but the interest in Koundé comes from England and other countries. I would have to be a fortune teller to know what is going to happen.

“There are calls from everywhere. The money is starting to roll in a bit. Koundé has established himself with France and will play at the World Cup. It’s logical that there is interest in him and there is. As of today, he is recovering from injury in Los Angeles and will join in Korea later, like the rest of the internationals.”
