Arsenal Set to Complete Deal for Man City's Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal are set to add to their off-season transfer activity with a deal agreed with Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus according to reports.

The 25-year-old Brazilian has a verbal agreement in place with the Gunners to join on a five-year deal.

Arsenal are working on the personal terms of the deal according to Fabrizio Romano, with the fee believed to be 45 million pounds.

Mikel Arteta’s side have already signed Portuguese midfielder Fabio Vieira from FC Porto for almost 30m pounds, while Brazilian winger Marquinhos has joined for an undisclosed fee from Sao Paulo.

The Gunners have let Matteo Guendouzi move to Olympique Marseille, while Alexandre Lacazette was released at the conclusion of his contract, joining Olympique Lyon.

Jesus’ departure from City comes following the big-money acquisition of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

The Brazilian netted 13 goals in 41 appearances in the 2021-22 season, having joined City in January 2017.

Jesus made 236 appearances for City, scoring 95 goals, winning four Premier League titles and an FA Cup in 2019 plus three League Cups.

He has close links with ex-City assistant Arteta, along with Arsenal technical director Edu, who is also Brazilian.

City have also confirmed the departure of veteran Brazilian Fernandinho who has returned to his homeland to join Athletico Paranaense.
