Revolution II Fall at Chicago, 4-3

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. – New England Revolution II (7-3-3, 25 pts.) fell to Chicago Fire FC II (3-6-4, 13 pts.), 3-4, on Sunday night at SeatGeek Stadium. After facing an early two-goal deficit, Brazilian midfielder Ryan Lima opened the scoring and Pierre Cayet scored minutes later to tie the game. New England conceded twice in the second half, with Michel scoring the game’s final goal in stoppage time.

Chicago scored goals in the 13th and 17th minutes to jump out to a 2-0 lead, but New England quickly bounced back. In the 33rd minute, Meny Silva sent a ball to the center of the box, where Lima was able to connect with a first-time finish for his third goal of the season. Soon after, New England was awarded a corner kick in the 36th minute, which Jake Rozhansky whipped in for Cayet to head home and knot the game at two.

Chicago retook the lead in the 55th minute and tallied again in the 76th minute to retake a two-goal lead. New England pulled back within one as Michel scored with a left-footed shot in the 93rd minute following a fast break led by Ítalo, but Revolution II ultimately fell short for their third loss of the season through 13 games.

Brazilian midfielder Ryan Lima scored his third goal of the MLS NEXT Pro season and is now tied for the team lead with Marcos Dias and Damian Rivera.

Defender Pierre Cayet scored his first goal of the season in the 36th minute, a header off Jake Rozhansky’s corner kick, to tie the game at two.

Brazilian midfielder Michel scored his second goal of the season in the 93rd minute.

Brazilian defender Ítalo notched his second assist in as many games on Michel’s stoppage-time goal. With his 90-minute performance, Ítalo surpassed 1,000 minutes played with Revolution II this season.

Goalkeeper Jacob Jackson made his 12th start of the season and surpassed 1,000 minutes played with Revolution II this season.
