Inter Miami CF Signs Abel Caputo on Short-Term Loan Agreement from Inter Miami CF II

Inter Miami CF announced today that it has signed midfielder / defender Abel Caputo on a short-term loan agreement from the club’s MLS NEXT Pro team Inter Miami CF II. Caputo will be available for Saturday’s MLS match against Minnesota United FC at 8 p.m. ET at DRV PNK Stadium.


Caputo, 21, has started all 13 MLS NEXT Pro matches for Inter Miami CF II in 2022, featuring in midfield and as a center back and frequently captaining the side. The Venezuelan has played all 90 minutes in all but two matches thus far, totaling 1,097 minutes played.

Caputo also spent the 2022 preseason with the First Team, including featuring in the club’s first-ever international friendly when the team hosted Peruvian side Club Universitario de Deportes.

Per MLS rules, the short-term agreement allows clubs to sign players on loan from their MLS NEXT Pro affiliate for MLS, U.S. Open Cup, CONCACAF Champions League, Canadian Championship and exhibition matches.
