Sadio Mane is set to exit Liverpool having reportedly agreed to a contract to join German champions Bayern Munich.

The 30-year-old Senegal international has spent six years at Anfield but had been linked with a move to Bayern for months.

Mane’s current deal with the Reds was due to expire in 2023 and the two parties couldnt reach an agreement on a new contract.

It is understood that Bayern have agreed to sign Mane for 35million pounds from Liverpool, having had initial bids of around 25m and 30m rejected.

The Reds last week signed Darwin Nunez from Benfica to bolster their forward options, lessening the blow of Mane’s exit. Luis Diaz also moved to Anfield in January.

Mohamed Salah, however, has also been linked with a move away from Liverpool, with his contract expiring in 2023.

Salah did confirm recently that he intended to remain with the Reds for the 2022-23 season although uncertainty remains beyond that.

Mane is among the top contenders for this year’s Ballon d’Or award after an exceptional season, where he helped Senegal win the African Cup of Nations.

The forward also helped Liverpool lift the FA Cup and League Cup, while they were runners-up in the UEFA Champions League and Premier League.

Bayern have been preparing for the departure of top scorer Robert Lewandowski who is set to join Barcelona.
