Vieira breaks silence on Arsenal transfer by making a promise to Gunners fans

New Arsenal signing Fabio Vieira celebrates

Fabio Vieira has promised Arsenal fans that he will “work, work, work” after he agreed to join the Premier League club from Porto.

The Portuguese club confirmed in a statement on Friday that Vieira would be moving to the Gunners after the clubs agreed a fee of €35m plus €5m in add-ons.

It read: “The club informs the market that it has reached an agreement with Arsenal FC for the signing, on a permanent basis, of Fabio Vieira for the amount of 40million Euros.”

“I think that is the difference there, I think that’s the competition that you’re looking at, is Tielemans for Xhaka.

“I would love to see Youri Tielemans at Arsenal, I think he would thrive. There was talk about him going to Liverpool as well.

“Arsenal are now looking at certain players and positions in their side that I believe needed strengthening. They’ve done the centre-halves, which people were begging for. Not just for one year but for probably about…
