SAN DIEGO – Today, San Diego Loyal Soccer Club revealed its third CHARLY Fútbol jersey for the 2022 season, the “Siempre Leal” kit. Prominently featuring Chicano Federation of San Diego County below the back neckline, 10% of all sales from the new kit will directly benefit the region’s leading non-profit organization whose mission is to provide empowering opportunities to under-resourced communities.
Inspired by San Diego’s Mexican and Mexican American population and border-town communities in the Baja California region, the Siempre Leal kit design pays homage to traditional handmade Talavera Mexican tiles. Representing the authenticity and durability of these tiles, the Siempre Leal kit celebrates Mexican culture, strength and traditions.
“The opportunity to partner with such an impactful community organization in the Chicano Federation for the Siempre Leal kit was extremely important to us,” said SD Loyal President Ricardo Campos. “We are excited to not only see these amazing kits on the field this Sunday, but continue to support and celebrate San Diego’s Mexican and Mexican American culture that our community is so heavily rooted in.”
Since SD Loyal was founded in 2019, the club has continued to support and partner with like-minded organizations in the region that aim to uplift San Diegans in need. The club’s involvement with Chicano Federation has continued to grow since the partnership’s inception.
“The Latino community is an integral part of San Diego County,” said Liz Ramirez, CEO of Chicano Federation of San Diego County. “We are honored to be a part of the San Diego Loyal’s Siempre Leal jersey that showcases the vibrance of our community and will give back to it by donating 10% of the sales to our organization. CHARLY Fútbol, SD Loyal’s official kit partner, once again displays elite customization and builds on the success of SD Loyal’s home and away kit launch. After making the long-awaited debut of Torrey Green for the 2022 home kit and featuring an entire map of San Diego on the away kit, celebrating and recognizing the region’s most influential culture was the next step in the evolution of SD Loyal’s on-field representation.
