Manchester United and Chelsea target Ibrahim Sangare reveals he has his heart set on a move to England, according to a source close to the player.

According to Sky Sports News, the Ivory Coast international is confident that he will leave Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven to be a Premier League next season.

Defensive midfielder Sangare has a reported £29.9million (€35m) release clause and three years left on his current deal at the Dutch side, with Liverpool and Newcastle also reported to be interest in the Dutch media.

Sangare, 24, joined Dutch giants PSV from newly-promoted Ligue 1 side Toulouse in 2020, but believes he is ready to make the switch to the English top flight after just two seasons. 

He told Dutch outlet De Telegraaf in May that: ‘I am a PSV player, and I am concentrating on the three games we have left this season.

‘I don’t have my head in other things. After that, I’ll go on holiday, and I’ll have time to talk about possible next projects. But until then I don’t want to worry about that.

‘Playing in the Premier League is not only a dream of mine but a dream of every footballer. That is the biggest and most important league in the world.’ 

The Ivorian played 49 games for his club last season, and impressed with his ability to win back the ball from a deep-lying midfield role. 

And it is this position that United have struggled to adequately recruit in recent years, and is thought to once again be a priority as part of Erik ten Hag’s rebuild project which United hope will take them back to the top of English football.
