Christian Eriksen got the all-important assist to help Denmark win 2-1 against Austria

Manchester United‘s scouts kept a close eye on summer transfer targets Christian Eriksen and Konrad Laimer during Denmark’s 2-1 victory against Austria on Monday.

New Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag wants to sign Eriksen following his fruitful comeback from a cardiac arrest since January, especially as his short-term contract with Brentford expires at the end of this month.

And Manchester United were one of the teams named on the scouting list during Denmark’s Nations League clash in Vienna, alongside fellow Premier League outfits Tottenham and West Ham.

The former Spurs playmaker assisted Jens Stryger Larsen’s 84th-minute winner to keep Denmark at the summit of League A Group One, ahead of Austria, France and Croatia. 

Eriksen’s fruitful spell with Brentford reminded world football of his talents, as he scored once and assisted four in 11 appearances on his return – before January, the Dane had not played any competitive football since his cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 last year.
