Italian media claim Premier League midfielder is ‘destined to play next season with Arsenal’

Arsenal are ‘destined’ to complete the signing of Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma this summer, according to reports.

The Malian has impressed for Albion in recent seasons and has attracted plenty of interest. Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa have all been linked with a move.

He played 26 times in the Premier League this season as Brighton finished a club-record ninth in the top flight.

Bissouma is out of contract at the end of next season so the Seagulls could look to sell him this summer to ensure they receive a transfer fee for their star midfielder.

Over the weekend, the 25-year-old sent Arsenal fans into a frenzy after sharing a message from a fan on his Instagram story which read: “For me I think he [Bissouma] and [Youri] Tielemans should be our [Arsenal] priority in midfield. We must get Bissouma at all cost.”

And according to Italian outlet Calciomercato (via The Boot Room), Bissouma ‘seems destined’ to play for the Gunners next season.

Speaking in April, Tony Cascarino picked Bissouma as one of five players Erik ten Hag should bring to Manchester United this summer.

“Erik ten Hag should focus on bringing in players who are already proven this summer, rather than obsessing over potential,” Cascarino told The Times.

“The best example of that is Harry Kane – a striker who would be a typical United signing.

“Signing Kane depends on whether Tottenham Hotspur fail to make the top four, but United should at least try for the England captain.
