Richarlison breaks silence on his Everton future amid Arsenal links

Everton and Brazil forward Richarlison has broken his silence on his future amid reports linking him with a summer move to Arsenal.

The 25-year-old has been with the Toffees since 2018. He joined them for a fee that could rise to £50m from Watford.

Richarlison has been a key player for Everton. He has grabbed 53 goals and 14 assists in 152 games.

The attacker was involved in1 15 league goals in 2021/22 as he helped Everton stay in the Premier League.

His contract expires in 2024 and he has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in recent days.

Richarlison has now spoken out on his Everton status, saying “let’s wait for June”:

“I’ve already made it clear to the board. I’ve already talked to Frank Lampard too, with my agents and they know what I want. Let’s wait for June,” Richarlison said (quotes via Daily Mail).

“Now I can’t talk, because when we talk about leaving a club I’m kind of like this, because of the history I have at Everton, the affection that the fans have for me. When we talk about leaving I’m a little speechless.”

Elsewhere, according to reports, Everton first-team coach Duncan Ferguson is ‘in advanced talks’ to become the manager of Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

The Scotsman scored 68 goals in 260 games for Everton across all competitions. He returned to the club in 2011 to coach their youth team.

The 50-year-old was promoted to the first-team in 2014 and he has worked under the likes of Rafael Benitez and Carlo Ancelotti.

Ferguson has had two spells as caretaker of Everton. His latest spell came earlier this year before the appointment of Frank Lampard.

Blackburn Rovers are on the lookout for a new permanent boss. Experienced manager Tony Mowbray left the club upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the 2021/22 season.
