Liverpool Boss Klopp: Nobody Has To Worry About Salah

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says “nobody has to worry about Mohamed Salah” as he seeks redemption after his nightmare 2018 UEFA Champions League final.

Salah was substituted early in Liverpool’s 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the 2018 decider, with the two sides to do battle again on Saturday in the 2022 edition.

The Egyptian has labelled that day in 2018 as the worst in his career and will be fueled to make up for it.

“Nobody has to worry about Mo,” Klopp told reporters. “The only thing is if it’s the only motivation, but that’s not the case.

“We want to put things right and that’s normal. There are so many reasons why we want to give everything tomorrow.”

The Reds went one better 12 months later in 2019, defeating Tottenham to become European champions but Klopp wouldn’t be drawn on comparing titles.

“Ask me after the game. Now, I’m all about preparing,” he said.

“I’m patient enough to wait for that feeling. We are ready to give them a game, a real fight.”

Klopp was full of praise for Spanish champions Real who are 13-time European champions.

“They are the most-decorated club in the world,” Klopp said.

“Some of them can win it for the fifth time, the manager can win it for the fourth time.

“You cannot buy that experience. But were experienced too. This is our third final in five years and that’s special.”
