TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced the Team of the Week for Week 11 of the 2022 regular season on Tuesday, with Legion FC defender Jonny Dean earning an Honorable Mention spot in the side.
Dean played well in Birmingham’s midweek contest versus Las Vegas Lights FC last week, as he recorded a team-high five chances created, three interceptions, two tackles, one clearance, and won five of seven duels while completing two of three dribbles.
Memphis 901 FC forward Phillip Goodrum earned 38 percent of the ballot to claim the Championship Player of the Week award after two goal, two assist week. 901 FC teammate Jeremy Kelly finished in second place on 25 percent after also notching a goal and assist in both of Memphis’ victories as well, with Kelly’s two assists moving him into the league lead with six helpers so far this season.
The Championship’s Player of the Week is selected by the USL National Media Panel, which is made up of representatives from each media market in the Championship.
USL Championship Team of the Week – Week 11
GK – Dallas Jaye, Monterey Bay F.C.: Jaye recorded a four-save shutout as Monterey Bay took a 2-0 victory against Louisville City FC on Saturday night, posting a -1.09 Goals minus Expected Goals mark for the contest at Lynn Family Stadium.
D – Patrick Seagrist, Memphis 901 FC: Seagrist recorded a pair of assists in Memphis’ 5-0 victory against the LA Galaxy II last Wednesday night and over two outings completed 41 of 49 passes and notched four chances created.
D – Jonathan Ricketts, Rio Grande Valley FC: Ricketts put in a solid defensive display for the Toros in a 2-1 win against San Diego Loyal SC, winning 3 of 3 tackles and 8 of 12 duels while making 10 recoveries and three interceptions at H-E-B Park.
