Chelsea have reportedly drawn up an eight-man shortlist of defenders in a bid to solve the club’s centre-back crisis, once the Todd Boehly takeover goes through.

The £4.25billion sale of Chelsea to a US consortium led by tycoon Boehly is expected to be approved by the UK Government in the next 24 hours.

The Blues are planning to move quickly in the transfer window once the club to given the green light to resume business, with Jules Kounde and Josko Gvardiol both near the top of their list of defensive targets, according to The Telegraph.
