Liverpool star Henderson admits season ‘is not yet incredible’ as they ‘still want more trophies’

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has admitted their season hasn’t yet been an incredible one, despite already winning two major trophies.

Last weekend, the Reds added the FA Cup to the Carabao Cup they won earlier this season as they continue their bid for an unprecedented quadruple.

They head into the final weekend of the Premier League season one point behind Manchester City at the top of the table, and will need a result from Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa side at City to give them any chance of regaining the title.

At the end of the month, they then head to Paris to face Real Madrid in the Champions League final. It will be the third time in five years they have reached the final.

However, despite the successes of the season so far, Liverpool skipper Henderson isn’t content and wants to get his hands on more silverware in the coming weeks.

Speaking in his official programme notes, Henderson urged the Liverpool supporters to use the final home game of the season against Wolves as a celebration but insisted he still wants more.

“The final home game of the season is always a special occasion.

“It’s something that the players, staff and our families all look forward to, particularly if it has been a decent campaign, because Anfield feels even more festive than usual.

“It is also something that is especially true today as we head towards the last game of a season which will go down as one of the most incredible in the history of this great club.

“As things stand, it is not yet incredible in terms of trophies. Up to now we have won the two domestic cups and while that is absolutely brilliant, we still want more and we are also well-aware that previous Liverpool teams have won more.

“But in terms of playing every possible game in every competition, fighting to the very end in all four, and creating stories and memories that will live with all of us forever, it could…
