North Carolina Football Club Partners with Black Dollar, the Black Flea Market and Our Stop Shop to Host Juneteenth Events

Cary, NC – The North Carolina Football Club has announced plans to recognize Juneteenth in partnership with Black Dollar, the Black Flea Market and Our Stop Shop throughout the month of June.

Juneteenth Festivals

Co-hosted events and special activations include Juneteenth festivals at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday, June 18, ahead of North Carolina FC’s match at 7 p.m., and on Sunday, June 19 ahead of the Courage’s home match at 5 p.m. Fans will be invited to join the weekend’s festivities to enjoy performances by local Black artists and support Black-owned businesses from the Triangle area.

Our Stop Shop, an award-winning, female-led Black economic empowerment company based in Durham, NC, will partner with the club to host the festivals on Saturday, June 18 ahead of the NCFC match.

Sunday’s Juneteenth festival, ahead of the Courage match on June 19, will be co-hosted by Black Dollar Corp, an organization focused on connecting Black-Owned Businesses in N.C. through an online directory and special events, and the Black Flea Market, a bi-weekly small business market event series in the Triangle.

Player-inspired Merchandise

In addition to the local community partnered events, the club will also produce a player-inspired Juneteenth merchandise line, consisting of scarves and t-shirts designed specifically by NCFC and Courage players. The merchandise line will be available for purchase online and in-stadium during June and a portion of the proceeds will go towards Black Dollar, the Black Flea Market and Our Stop Shop.

Players from both teams will wear the t-shirts ahead of their Juneteenth matches, to then autograph and auction off with proceeds benefiting Black Dollar, the Black Flea Market and Our Stop Shop.

Courage forward, Jorian Baucom, will also be hand-painting three pairs of Air Force 1s, donated by Nike, with a Juneteenth-inspired design, to be auctioned off. All proceeds will…
