Orlando City SC Acquires Winger/Midfielder Jake Mulraney from Atlanta United FC

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando City has acquired winger/midfielder Jake Mulraney from Atlanta United FC, it was announced today. In exchange, City has traded $200,000 in General Allocation Money, $100,000 in 2022 and $100,000 in 2023, to Atlanta United. Atlanta could receive an additional $75,000 in 2023 GAM should certain performance-based conditions be met.

Atlanta will also retain a portion of Mulraney’s future transfer fee, should the winger be dealt. Atlanta will retain a portion of Mulraney’s 2022 club budget charge, and Orlando will absorb a portion of his 2022 club salary budget charge.

“Bringing Jake to Orlando is a move that we’re excited about,” said EVP of Soccer Operations and General Manager Luiz Muzzi. “We think his on-field abilities and his style of play will really compliment the team we have and we’re happy to have him in purple.”

A product of Crumlin United FC’s youth academy system in Dublin, Ireland, Mulraney made his way to the Queens Park Rangers first team in 2014 after two seasons with Nottingham Forest’s U18 side. Since then, the midfielder has spent time at clubs around England and Scotland.

The 26-year-old made his way to MLS and Atlanta United by way of Scotland’s Heart of Midlothian FC in 2020. Since 2015, Mulraney has made 186 appearances, scored nine goals and provided 21 assists across all competitions.
