Tottenham are reportedly among the list of clubs pursuing RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer, who is also a target for Liverpool and Manchester United.
Laimer spent much of his teenage years in the Red Bull Salzburg academy. After a brief spell at FC Liefering, he went on to make 77 appearances for Salzburg in all competitions.
The central midfielder, who can also operate on the right flank if needed, made the next step in his career by joining Leipzig in 2017.
He has helped the club become a force in the German Bundesliga – last season they finished second, while they could make the top four again this term.
Laimer is a regular in the starting eleven, having made 38 appearances during 2021-22. He has chipped in with five goals and six assists in that time.
The Austria international’s impressive performances are leading to rumours of a big-money move elsewhere.
Laimer came onto United’s radar towards the start of April. That followed his electric display against Dortmund, where he notched two goals and an assist during a 4-1 win for Leipzig.
A few weeks on and it was Liverpool who were the latest Premier League team to monitor his situation.

But those two clubs will face competition from Tottenham if they want to land the 24-year-old.
German outlet Kicker claim Antonio Conte’s side are now firmly in the mix for Laimer’s signature.
Tottenham added to their midfield ranks in January by capturing Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus. But Conte will request more signings in the summer, and Laimer is one of the players under consideration.
The report doesn’t suggest how much he will cost. However, as with all players from a Red Bull team, if the price is right then a deal can be done.
Laimer’s contract runs until June 2023 and he is unlikely to pen an extension, given the transfer interest.
As such, Leipzig may need to sell later this year to get an optimum fee.
