Pep Guardiola has agreed in principle to remain manager of Manchester City until at least 2025, according to reports.
Guardiola has been in charge of Manchester City since the 2016/17 season, during which time he has won three league titles, four League Cups and one FA Cup. The Spanish coach has the chance to extend his trophy collection this season, with the Prem still in his hands and the Champions League still up for grabs.
However, it seems Guardiola believes regardless of this season’s achievements, he has unfinished business in England.
That’s according to The Sun, who report City sources have confirmed Guardiola has verbally agreed to add a further two years to his contract.
The Spaniard already has 12 months remaining on his contract, but is seemingly happy to extend this further.
The proposed contract is also believed to have an additional year on top of this as an option. Should Guardiola accept this option, it would bring his reign at the Etihad to a decade.
This news comes after Liverpool announced Jurgen Klopp had also signed a two-year extension deal with his club.
This keeps Klopp at Liverpool until 2026, after it was previously suggested Klopp would take a break from management at the end of his current deal.
An announcement of Guardiola’s deal is also expected to come in the next few days.

Meanwhile, it is suggested that the new deal with Guardiola could boost City’s chances of recruiting Erling Haaland this summer.
According to the report, Haaland was concerned Guardiola may leave Manchester at the end of his contract.
This was said to be the only stumbling block between a transfer to Real Madrid or Man City.
Now a deal has been ‘verbally agreed’, the Norwegian star will reportedly be more inclined to move to England.
It is believed this was always the preferred option for Haaland. Now a deal has been struck, the transfer should be easier for City to complete.
