FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution (2-5-1; 7 pts.) will host Inter Miami CF (3-4-1; 10 pts.) on Saturday night at Gillette Stadium for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on WBZ CBS Boston and on myRITV in Rhode Island. CBS Boston’s pregame coverage begins on WBZ at 7:00 p.m. with “Revolution Kickoff”. The match also airs locally on the radio on 98.5 The Sports Hub and 1260 AM Nossa Radio in Portuguese.
New England returns home to Gillette Stadium following a 3-2 road loss at D.C. United last Saturday night. Defender Brandon Bye delivered a swift opening goal six minutes into the match with assists from midfielders Carles Gil and Emmanuel Boateng. Gil registered his second helper of the night in the 86th minute, when he provided the assist on forward Adam Buksa’s header in the 86th minute. Gil, who registered his first two-assist outing of the season, leads New England’s attack with three goals and three assists this season.
Buksa, who has netted goals in two consecutive matches, owns four tallies across all competitions in 2022. Since arriving in New England in 2020, Buksa ranks first in MLS with 11 headed goals. The Polish National Team forward also collected a season-high eight shots in Saturday’s match. By netting his second goal of the year, Bye matched his career high in scoring only six starts into his 2022 campaign. Bye’s teammate on the backline, Andrew Farrell, is set to become New England’s all-time leader in games started and appearances across all competitions with his next start, passing Matt Reis (300 GS) and Shalrie Joseph (305 GP), respectively.
In net, goalkeeper Brad Knighton has started the last four games for New England, though a healthy Matt Turner is drawing closer to his first action of the season.
