Liverpool contact could trigger £34m David Carmo transfer, though deal would hinge on current star’s exit

Liverpool could meet the release clause of defensive target David Carmo, though a prominent journalist has suggested a move would depend on a current star’s exit.

The Reds were riddled with injuries in the defensive department last year with all three senior centre-backs being ruled out for significant portions of the season.

During Jurgen Klopp’s search for centre-back reinforcements in January he came across David Carmo. The centre-half currently plies his trade for Braga in the Portuguese top flight.
