Tammy Abraham opens door to Arsenal move as Roma make clear their asking price

Tammy Abraham has made clear he is willing to move to Arsenal this summer if the opportunity presents itself, despite reiterating his happiness with life at Roma.

The Gunners are in the market for a new leading striker this summer amid what is likely a busy summer. Arsenal are ready to wave farewell to Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette with the pair leaving as free agents. And with Pierre-Emerick also departing in January, Mikel Arteta desperately needs more firepower.

As such, a number of leading No 9s are being mentioned as targets for the Gunners. Indeed, the likes of Alexander Isak and Victor Osimhen are reportedly in their sights. And their hopes of landing Osimhen have taken an upwards turn in the wake of a potential swap deal.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is also on their radar and those hopes too have been boosted in the wake of a big revelation around the Everton star.

However, it seems their No 1 target is Roma star Abraham.

He made the move to the Stadio Olimpico last summer and is enjoying an excellent first season in Serie A. With 24 goals to his name and five assists, he has quickly ingratiated himself with the Serie A outfit.

Understandably, that has led to plenty of interest in services, not least from the Gunners.

Abraham is back in England for Thursday’s Europa Conference League semi-final first leg against Leicester. And the 24-year-old was asked for his opinion on links to Arsenal.

“For me to be doing what I’m doing now for a great club like Roma, I can’t really describe the feeling,” Abraham said when asked about his future.
