Erik ten Hag has been given a bit of a kicking by Rafael van der Vaart and his fellow pundits in the Netherlands as his time at Ajax nears its end.
Ten Hag has agreed a deal to leave the Eredivisie giants at the end of the season to take on the Manchester United job.

Ajax currently sit top of the table following a 1-0 win over NEC on Saturday as they look to regain the title.
Praise has been widespread for the 52-year-old thoughout his time in Amsterdam but doubts have started to emerge over his legacy at the club in recent weeks, and SoccerNews.nl (via Sport Witness) have compiled some of the comments.
Former Spurs playmaker Rafael van der Vaart spoke of “unrest” in the dressing room, using Ten Hag’s decision to drop Andre Onana – who has agreed to join Inter Milan on a free transfer at the end of the season – as an explanation.
He said: “The energy is no longer there at Ajax. It’s all a hassle; everyone is out of shape, that whole Onana thing and the unrest in the dressing room. The title is almost like a consolation prize.
“It will then be a less beautiful championship. As a player I have had that sometimes, that you thought: the others were worse, but we were not much better.”
Pierre van Hooijdonk gave a mixed assessment of Ten Hag’s tenure: “Ten Hag has done a fantastic job, but he doesn’t leave anything behind. There is nothing you can build on as a new trainer.”
Willem van Hanegem, another former footballer, said: “Ten Hag would have been the most successful trainer in Amsterdam in years, but the positive feeling is mainly based on that one strong season in the Champions League, when Juventus and Real Madrid were tapped away in their own stadium. That was a while ago. Yes, this season they won all group matches in the Champions League. It is useless if you are immediately knocked out against Benfica. And in the Eredivisie it is getting worse by the minute.”
