Jurgen Klopp explains ‘ridiculous’ Divock Origi factor; tips Liverpool man to ‘explode’ at next club

Liverpool forwards Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi celebrating

Jurgen Klopp has revealed what is ‘ridiculous’ about Divock Origi and tipped the forward to ‘explode’ at his next club after Liverpool.

The Belgium international came off the bench to a great reception against Everton on Sunday. He went on to score Liverpool’s second goal, ensuring all three points remained at Anfield.

The close-range header continued Origi’s impressive record versus the Toffees. In 10 matches in all competitions, he has found the net seven times.

27-year-old Origi rarely gets to feature due to Klopp’s exceptional options in attack. Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino are all available to him.

Despite this, Origi is admired by those on the red side of Merseyside for his ability to pop up with a goal when they need it most.

The player will likely leave Liverpool in the summer to get regular game time. His contract expires on June 30 and AC Milan are hoping to sign him on a free transfer.

Liverpool ‘will miss’ Divock Origi – Klopp

And Klopp reckons Origi will ‘explode’ when he becomes a starter at his next destination. The German also spoke about a ‘ridiculous’ factor regarding the star.

“We will never miss a player more like him because if he leaves, he will explode wherever he goes,” Klopp said (via the Daily Mirror).

“He doesn’t always make the squad which is ridiculous, but he is there when we need him every time.

“He was involved in both goals; everything that we did in the second half, without Divock, wouldn’t have happened.”

Klopp also gave praise to some of Liverpool’s other squad players who rarely get to make the starting eleven due to the fierce competition for places.

“The group lives because of the boys that don’t always play. They are the strongest players ever. [Alex] Oxlade-Chamberlain, [Harvey] Elliot, [Takumi] Minamino, even Rhys Williams,” the manager added.

Alongside Premier League glory, Liverpool are also in the mix for silverware in the Champions…
