Ten Hag demands Man Utd make Christian Eriksen raid; Arsenal bid £50m for Serie A striker

Christian Eriksen of Brentford and West Ham United's Tomas Soucek battle for the ball during the Premier League match at the Brentford Community Stadium, London

Erik Ten Hag wants to add the class of Christian Eriksen to his Manchester United midfield, Arsenal will bid £50m for a 24-goal striker, while Sunday’s transfer gossip claims West Ham are plotting a £20m raid on Everton.

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN IS TEN HAG’S FIRST MAN UTD TARGET

Incoming Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has placed Christian Eriksen firmly at the top of his transfer wish-list.

The Dane is back in action with Brentford and looking better than ever following his dramatic recovery from a cardiac arrest.

And while his recovery and willigness to play again both delighted and surprised in equal measure, Eriksen has been proven right to resume his playing career.

That six-month deal at Brentford has been the perfect move. In Thomas Frank, he has a manager who has expertly handled his return to top-level football.

And for the Bees, he has been the catalyst for an excellent run of results that has seen the west-London side secure their Premier League status.

Eriksen’s latest outing was an emotional 0-0 draw against Tottenham, the side he served with distinction for so many years.

But having only signed a six-month deal, Brentford face a huge battle to extend his stay.

Reports recently claimed as many as seven clubs were all looking to snap up the classy Dane.

However, the Daily Star Sunday now throws the name of Manchester United into the mix.

They claim new boss Ten Hag has told United chiefs to make his signing the first piece of business of his reign.

As a free-agent, Ten Hag sees Eriksen as the ‘perfect deal to kick off his Old Trafford revolution’.

They claim Ten Hag was seriously impressed with Eriksen’s quality as he trained with Ajax during his recovery.

However, the Star reports that Ten Hag will have to overcome competition from Tottenham to sign him.

Antonio Conte was quizzed about the player following Saturday’s draw and made it plainly obvious his admiration for him.
