Arsenal and West Ham are among the clubs to have joined Newcastle in the race for Brentford striker Ivan Toney, according to a report revealing the striker’s plans.
Ivan Toney has been linked with a return to Newcastle after stepping back up to Premier League level with Brentford this season. He was previously on the books of the Magpies between 2015 and 2018, but spent much of that time out on loan.
He then left permanently for Peterborough United, who sold him to Brentford in 2020. Subsequently, his 31-goal haul in his debut Championship season fired the Bees to promotion.
This term, Toney has been able to add significantly to the two Premier League appearances he had to his name from his Newcastle spell. The Brentford forward has fired in 12 top-flight goals from 28 games so far.
Although Brentford look on course to remain in the Premier League, Toney has been attracting interest from elsewhere. He was recently revealed to be back on the radar of Newcastle, who want to sign another centre-forward.
According to 90min, Newcastle are not the only suitors for the striker. He is also of interest to Arsenal, West Ham, Everton and Wolves.
Arsenal are in the market for a new striker ahead of the potential releases of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah. West Ham have also been searching for a frontman since selling Sebastien Haller in January 2021.
Everton, for their part, risk losing Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison in the summer. Wolves meanwhile do not have any players on double figures for goals this season.

Moving to either Arsenal or West Ham would allow Toney to remain in London, where he is settled. But the same would go if Toney can extend his contract with Brentford.
And the report claims that is something he would be interested in. His current deal is due to expire in 2025, but he could earn a pay-rise thanks to proving himself in the Premier League.
