Mo Salah labels Liverpool talks ‘sensitive’, says ‘there are many things people don’t know about’

Mohamed Salah has revealed his Liverpool future is a “sensitive situation” and has said “there are many things people don’t know about it”.

The forward, who has scored 28 goals in 38 games this season, remains locked in talks with the Anfield club. His current deal expires in June 2023 and both he and Jurgen Klopp want an extension. However, the 29-year-old and his agent are yet to agree a new deal with the club.

Salah has previously stated he was “not asking for crazy stuff” but common ground has yet to be found.

Reds boss Klopp has always played down the situation and recently said he was “happy” with the way things were progressing.

However, on the eve of Sunday’s huge clash at Manchester City, Salah’s future remains unclear at best.

Asked by Sky Sports’ Geoff Shreeves what he could say about the contract situation, Salah said: “Well not much but honestly, but what I can say is there many things people don’t know about it.

“I can’t be selfish and talk about my situation. We are in the most important period for the team so I have to just talk about the team, focus on what is coming with the team and that is the most important thing.

“That is all I can say. Hopefully we are going to be more optimistic and see what is going to happen.”
