Manchester City have a gem on their hands in Julian Alvarez, according to one of his predecessors at River Plate.
Alvarez shone with the Argentine giants last season and has been in good form towards the start of their current campaign. His record is five goals and two assists from nine matches so far.
Manchester City didn’t go big in January, but they did agree a deal with River Plate to sign the exciting striker.

However, he will not play in the Premier League until next season at the earliest. Alvarez is back at River Plate on loan to continue his development.
The 22-year-old is improving nicely, and is already a full Argentina international too. He has managed one goal from seven caps to date.

“It’s not my characteristic. He’s a complete player, he usually goes down the flanks, wears out differently and on top of that he adds the goals.
“That makes footballers worth much more. He runs, presses, creates free kicks and has a tremendous scoring streak. He’s on another level than Argentine football.”
