Klopp denies rift with out-of-form Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, cutting a frustrated figure at present

Jurgen Klopp has reacted to the drop in form of Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah, denying a rift with the star following the 3-1 win over Benfica.

Salah has enjoyed a fantastic period of his career at Liverpool. Indeed, the last few years have shown the Egyptian to be one of the best players in the world.

In fact, Salah has never failed to hit 20 goals in a season for the Reds. That is no different this season, with Salah already having notched 20 in the league, and eight in the Champions League.

As such, it would seem the Liverpool talisman is having a good season. However, there has been a drop off in his form recently, following international call ups.

The first two games after the African Cup of Nations, Salah blanked in front of goal. He did, however, hit his stride again soon after.

Salah has not produced in the two games since it was confirmed Egypt would not be heading to the World Cup, though.

Liverpool’s recent Champions League win over Benfica was a frustrating one for Salah. The forward missed a good chance early on, and was hooked around the hour mark. Klopp has denied a rift, thanks to a brief exchange with the Egyptian following the substitution.

“I did nothing different to what I do usually,” the manager said via Metro.

“If the game is kind of decided then you are a bit more with the players who come off. If the game is open, like it was, you just give a clap and above all the rest you speak later.”
