Fresh detail revealed about Ralf Rangnick influence in new Man Utd role, but key ‘mystery’ still lingers

Ralf Rangnick will work six days a month when he steps into his consultancy role at Manchester United, according to a report.

The German is in interim charge of the Red Devils until the end of the season. His firm focus for now is trying to salvage a top-four Premier League finish from his squad. However, United chiefs agreed a deal to keep the 63-year-old at Old Trafford from there.

Rangnick will spend two seasons as a consultant working with club chiefs on a range of issues. While the manager has significant experience in the dugout, he has also worked as a sporting director at RB Leipzig.

As a result, Man Utd‘s transfer strategy is one particular issue he is likely to advise on. In fact, he has already given his advice to the club’s board on improving their recruitment.

Little more is known of the Rangnick will play at Old Trafford. However, the Daily Mail claims to have learned that he will work six days a month.

Over his two-year spell, that amounts to 144 days in his upcoming job helping to get United back on track.

The newspaper adds that United have so far not asked Rangnick for advice on who should succeed him as manager..

Ajax’s Erik ten Hag is a frontrunner, with Paris Saint-Germain’s Mauricio Pochettino also in the frame.

But, the Daily Mail adds that ‘mystery’ remains over what input Rangnick could actually have, given the new structure at Man Utd.
