Rodgers hopes Leicester chase for Belgian star convinces Man Utd, Arsenal target to stay

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has not given up hope of persuading Youri Tielemans to sign a new long-term deal at the club, TEAMtalk understands.

Rodgers believes their intent in the summer market will help push Leicester back into top-four reckoning, which in-turn will help their big names like Tielemans to stay at the King Power Stadium.

We are told that Tielemans has already been impressed by their ability to persuade Wesley Fofana to stay put.

And one of their main targets is someone who Tielemans knows very well as it is his fellow countryman Charles De Ketelaere.

The 21-year-old Club Brugge forward has enjoyed a stand-out campaign in Belgium with 14 goals and eight assists.

De Ketelaere can play anywhere across the forward line or midfield, and Leicester are one of a number of clubs paying very close attention to his progress.

Wolves, Newcastle, Leeds and Brighton are also believed to have watched him close in recent months. However, there is also major interest on the continent with AC Milan and Lyon.

But if Leicester can land De Ketelaere, it would represent a major coup for The Foxes.

Tielemans still wanted by Premier League duo

Having previously been linked with Liverpool, Tielemans has since emerged as a target for Manchester United and Arsenal.

The midfielder, like Leicester, has not quite been at his best this season. However, that has not stopped a number of clubs lining him up for a summer switch.
