Former Everton striker, Kevin Campbell has had his say on two players at the club who he thinks could have a “part to play” in their survival battle.
It has been a season to forget for the blue side of Merseyside, with the club scrapping to survive in England’s top flight. The Toffees have been far from remarkable this season, currently residing in 18th position, two points away from safety.
The gap between Everton and 17th place was lessened on Sunday, however, in their surprise 1-0 win against Chelsea, which saw Frank Lampard gain one over his former club. Lampard had his say on the importance of the three points.
“To perform like that against a top Chelsea team and fight for the result, it’s a huge thing,” Lampard told Sky Sports.
“The job is far from done, it’s just beginning.”
Over the years, Everton haven’t had the best recruitment within transfer windows, signing players for much higher than their face value.
For example, the likes of Moise Kean, Davy Klaassen and Jean-Philippe Gbamin were all signed for more than £20m but had little impact to reflect that.
The club, however, tried to bolster their ranks in the January transfer window, with Dele Alli joining from Tottenham. He is yet to hit the ground running however; in the nine Premier League games he has played, he is yet to make a goal contribution.

But Sky Sports pundit, Kevin Campbell has had his say on his former club’s woes this season and has singled out Alli as one of two players who he feels could have an “opportunity to play a big part” in the club’s survival.
“I think we’ve got to watch and see,” Campbell said, speaking to Goodison News.
“I think Dele Alli had done really well when he came on. [Salomon] Rondon put himself about which was good, didn’t have a long time [on the pitch].
“But, I thought Dele Alli had a couple of good actions. He’d done that run where he got down to the by-line and cut it back…
