Kalvin Phillips has been dropped for the England squad for the games versus Brazil and Belgium, while Jarrad Branthwaite and Anthony Gordon have been handed their first call-ups.
Ivan Toney and Joe Gomez have been handed recalls by Gareth Southgate.
Toney returned to Brentford action in January following his batting ban and has scored four goals in nine appearances, and has been rewarded with an instant return to the international scene.
Phillips, however, will miss out after an 18-month spell of inactivity at Manchester City and a difficult start to life at West Ham on loan.
Mail Sport reported on Wednesday that Phillips’ place was in danger and his worst fears have now been realised.

There had been much speculation around the Phillips’ international future as he endured a difficult spell that saw limited minutes at Manchester City prior to January’s transfer window.
In that window he joined West Ham on loan in a bid to see more game time, but his time in London hasn’t gone to plan and he has once again found himself on the bench more regularly than he would have liked.
Now, he has paid the price for his lack of game time and has been left out of the Three Lions’ squad with his place at the Euros now far from guaranteed.
