Everton and Burnley are among the clubs keeping an eye on former Derby youngster Archie Brown.

Defender Brown has been making a name for himself abroad since leaving the Pride Park club in 2021 having come through their academy.

And the English left-back is now back on the radar of sides in England as well as from Germany’s Bundesliga and Italy’s Serie A.

The 21-year-old joined Swiss side Lausanne from Derby and his form during two seasons there earned him a summer move to Belgian’s Gent.

Until a recent injury, Brown was an ever-present following his arrival in August and his reputation is on the rise in Belgium having been a standout performer for the side who are third in the league and also through to the last-16 of the Europa Conference League.

As well as Everton and Burnley, Championship Leeds are also monitoring Brown.

Meanwhile, his displays have also put him on the radar of England under-21s, with Brown in contention for a call-up to Lee Carsley’s next squad in March.

Brown signed a four-year contract when he joined Gent and, despite the growing interest, they are set to retain him until next summer at least.

Brown made three appearances this season for Lausanne before his move to Gent and FIFA rules would prevent him playing for a third club in the same campaign.
