Match Preview: Forward Madison FC vs Greenville Triumph SC

June 16, 2022 – United Soccer League One (USL1)Forward Madison FC News Release

SC Paderborn 07, our distinguished guests, get us underway on a scorching night in Madison. The Bundesliga 2 team had the best of the early chances, forcing a stop down low from Flamingo keeper Phil Breno in the 11′ and it was Breno again who kept the half time score at 0-0 with an absolutely “wunderbar” reaction save from a close range shot.

The changes came flooding in for the start of the second half with Leonard, Sukow, Eriquez, Parker-Smith and new signing Christian Dean all entering the field. In the 54′, Parker Smith made a tremendous stop, saving a certain goal from Paderborn after a cross came low into the 6 yard box.

SC Paderborn 07 scored first on the night with a nice finish from John Iredale, hard and low into the bottom corner. Paderborn doubled their lead in the 82′ with a great run from Kelvin Ofori who crossed to Sirlord Conteh for the goal. Forward Madison pulled a goal back in the 90+1 on a Jeremiah Streng shot. The match ended 1-2.

After heading to South Georgia this Sunday, Forward Madison welcomes current 1st placed club Richmond Kickers on Thursday, June the 23rd.
