Man City chief confirms ‘more players are coming in’ after signing £51m ‘incredibly talented’ Haaland

Man City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has confirmed that “more players are coming in” this summer following the signing of Erling Haaland.

Pep Guardiola’s side edged out Liverpool by a single point to win the Premier League title in 2021/22.

They have now lifted the league title in four out of their past five campaigns.

Man City have not wasted any time improving their squad ahead of next season. They have agreed a deal to sign Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

The Premier League champions have also been linked with Brighton & Hove Albion’s Marc Cucurella.

Al Mubarak is insistent that Man City’s team “needs strengthening” this summer:

“I can confirm that there will be more players coming in,” he said (via City’s official website).

“We are looking to strengthen the team in the areas that we need strengthening. As you know, every season some players leave, and then we have to continuously refresh the team.

“Again, we will always look at improving and strengthening. I think we’ve made two very important additions already, but I anticipate we’ll be doing a couple more.

“We’ll try to go as fast as we can, but you know how the market goes. It’s not always entirely in our control.”
