Manchester United have spoken to Frenkie de Jong’s representatives and want an answer from the Barcelona midfielder about becoming one of boss Erik ten Hag’s first signings, according to a report.
Netherlands midfielder De Jong starred under Erik ten Hag at Ajax between 2016 and 2019 and is said to be available for around £65million if Barca can replace the 25-year-old with a major name.
Barcelona’s salary limit is finally not in negative numbers this summer but a planned £1.3billion stadium renovation and the £331m the club owes in deferred wages means club president Joan Laporta remain opens to offloading players.
