EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Timbers2 dropped a 3-1 result on the road to St. Louis CITY2 on Sunday night. Dawson McCartney tallied his first goal of the campaign in the match. T2 continue their road swing, traveling to take on the Tacoma Defiance on Tuesday, May 31.
Goal-Scoring Plays
STL – Vitor Dias (Wan Kuzain), 2nd minute: Vitor Dias got in behind the T2 backline and fired a shot from inside the box, forcing a saved by Noah Lawrence. Dias pounced on the loose ball, maneuvered his way through traffic inside the box before firing a shot into the top left corner of the goal.
STL – Josh Dolling (Vitor Dias), 49th minute: SLC played a cross from the left side into the center of the box. Dolling settled the ball and played a short pass to Dias, who delivered a sliding shot from the edge of the six-yard box.
STL – Josh Dolling (Wan Kuzain), 62nd minute: Wan Kuzan latched onto a cross played to the top of the box, sending a header to Josh Dolling as he made a run toward the penalty spot. Dolling converted with a quick strike inside the right post.
T2 – Dawson McCartney (Selmir Miscic), 74th minute: Selmir Miscic dribbled down the left side and whipped in a cross toward the opposite post. Dawson McCartney came streaking in and sent a diving header into the back of the net.
Notes
Dawson McCartney scored his first goal of the season.
Noah Lawrence recorded four saves in the match.
Selmir Miscic tallied his second assist of the season.
