Revolution’s Matt Turner Named to U.S. Men’s National Team Roster for Final Home Matches Before 2022 FIFA World Cup

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner has been named to the U.S. Men’s National Team roster for the USA’s final set of home matches before the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. After successfully qualifying for the World Cup, Gregg Berhalter will convene his 27-player squad in Cincinnati, Ohio before playing four important matches in June to prepare for the sport’s biggest stage.

The USMNT kicks off the international window on June 1 against Morocco at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati (7:30 p.m. ET – ESPN2, UniMas, TUDN), before taking on Uruguay on June 5 at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kan. (5:00 p.m. ET – FOX, Univision, TUDN). The USMNT’s slate continues with the launch of the 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League, as the U.S. will attempt to defend its inaugural title. Group stage matches begin on June 10 against Grenada (10:00 p.m. ET – ESPN+, UniMas, TUDN) at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas, followed by El Salvador on June 14 (FS1, Univision, TUDN).

Turner owns a 12-2-2 record with 11 shutouts through 16 caps with the U.S. Men’s National Team. Named the “Best Goalkeeper” at the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup, Turner played a crucial role in the USA’s World Cup Qualifying campaign with eight starts and four clean sheets. The 2021 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year and MLS Best XI selection owns 100 career appearances with the Revolution. Turner will return to the Revolution after the international window before departing to join Arsenal FC of the English Premier League at the end of June.
