Bruno Fernandes ’embarrassed’ and accepts humiliating Man Utd chant

Bruno Fernandes, Brighton v Man Utd May 2022

Bruno Fernandes accepted chants from Manchester United fans that he’s “not fit to wear the shirt” following the damaging defeat to Brighton.

The problems throughout the Old Trafford club have reared their heads on a number of occasions this season. Indeed, a 9-0 aggregate loss to Liverpool would be a pertinent starting point.

Such performances have seen the Red Devils go from having optimism in August to now fearing the worst.

And on Saturday, Brighton put another nail in Man Utd‘s coffin for their campaign with a 4-0 win.

The Seagulls opened the scoring after 15 minutes through Moises Caicedo. However, Marc Cucurella, Pascal Gross and Leandro Trossard added to the misery for United – and to the delight for Brighton.

Fernandes told Sky Sports of the humiliating evening for the Red Devils: “The result is what it is. It is not good enough.

Graeme Souness, however, insisted that only goalkeeper David de Gea and Cristiano Ronaldo look anything like Man Utd players.

Goalkeeper De Gea has made the second-most number of saves in the Premier League this season. Ronaldo, meanwhile, has netted 24 goals in 39 games.
