Revolution Host Columbus Crew on Saturday

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution (3-5-1; 10 pts.) will host the Columbus Crew (3-3-3; 12 pts.) on Saturday night for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium. Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies will call the action locally on WSBK-TV38, myRITV in Rhode Island, and Cozi TV in Western Massachusetts. Saturday’s contest also airs on the radio via 98.5 The Sports Hub and 1260 AM Nossa Radio in Portuguese. CBS Boston’s exclusive pregame coverage begins at 7:00 p.m. with Revolution Kickoff on TV38.

The Revolution have won back-to-back games at home following Saturday’s 2-0 win over Inter Miami CF on April 30. Midfielder Damian Rivera, a 19-year-old Homegrown Player from Cranston, R.I., opened his MLS account with a goal less than one minute into his first career start. Forward Adam Buksa added a header in the 64th minute, marking the Polish international’s third consecutive match with a goal to move into a tie with Carles Gil for the team lead in scoring. Since the start of 2020, the Polish striker ranks second among all MLS players with 21 goals from open play.

Gil, Matt Polster, and defender DeJuan Jones each logged an assist in last weekend’s win. Gil earned his second consecutive appearance on the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week for his performance. He has now registered one goal and three assists over his last four games. Meanwhile, Jones’ three helpers this season are tied for the league lead among defenders.

Last Saturday’s victory also marked the return of reigning MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Matt Turner. The United States international tallied three saves en route to the shutout victory in his 50th league appearance at Gillette Stadium. The shutout marked New England’s third clean sheet in six home games across all competitions in 2022. Turner and defender Brandon Bye, who owns one goal and one assist in his last three outings, could both make their 99th MLS regular season…
