DENVER – Timbers2 dropped a 3-1 result on the road to Colorado Rapids 2 at University of Denver Soccer Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Jamin Gogo Peters scored his second goal of the season, assisted by T2 newcomer Nathan Fogaca. Portland will travel to play Earthquakes II at PayPal Park in its next match on Sunday, May 8.
Goal-Scoring Plays
COL – Yosuke Hanya (Jackson Travis), 5th minute: Jackson Travis beat a defender off the dribble towards the endline and found Yosuke Hanya in the center of the box, who finished with a one touch shot to the left corner of the goal.
COL – Collen Warner, 9th minute: Following a deflection off the crossbar, Collen Warner pounced on the loose ball in the box, finishing with a one touch right-footed shot that found the center of the goal.
COL – Darren Yapi (Jackson Travis), 55th minute: Travis played a through ball into Darren Yapi, who then dribbled into the center of the box and took a right-footed shot that found the bottom left corner of the goal.
POR – Jamin Gogo Peters (Nathan Fogaca), 84th minute: Nathan Fogaca received the ball in T2’s defensive half, turned and whipped a through ball past Colorado’s defensive line for Jamin Gogo Peters to run onto. Gogo Peters dribbled up the field, and once near the top of the 18-yard box, slotted a shot inside of the right post.
