Paris Saint-Germain remain positive that they can extend Kylian Mbappe’s contract beyond the summer despite continued heavy interest from Real Madrid.

Off the back of clinching the Ligue 1 title on Saturday for a record equalling 10th time, PSG are now doing all they can to tie down the France international ahead of next season.

According to ESPN, talks are set to continue this week over keeping the 23-year-old at the club whose deal expires at the end of the season.

His mother Fayza Lamari, who is representing her son’s contractual dealings, is expected to travel to the Middle East with her youngest son Ethan to continue the negotiations while being on holiday. 

PSG president Nasser al Khelaifi is expected to meet Mbappe’s mother for talks, but following her stay in Doha she is ten expected to fly out to Real Madrid to meet with club representatives.

Despite failing with multiple deadline day bids last summer, Real believe they are favourites to pick up the striker on a free transfer, although PSG are confident he will stay put at the Parc des Princes.
