Liverpool are ready to do battle with Juventus to sign a bargain Valencia midfielder this summer, while Friday’s Euro transfer gossip also claims that another Brazilian right-back could be bound for Tottenham.

Liverpool and Juventus are reportedly looking to take advantage of Carlos Soler’s contract impasse at Valencia by making a summer move for the midfielder.

The 25-year-old current deal runs out in 2023 and talks over an extension have so far stalled.

The Spain international has had an outstanding campaign for the LaLiga giants, scoring 10 goals and adding five assists in 28 games for the club.

His versatility also makes him an attractive option for suitors. Indeed, Soler has featured in his normal central midfield role, on the right and as a No.10 for the LaLiga giants this term.

That form has prompted Valencia to put an offer of £48,500-a-week after tax on the table.

However, Soler is fully aware that he can earn more money in Italy and particularly England by moving.

Contract impasse leads to Soler doubts

That has led to a breakdown in talks and Spanish outlet GolsMedia claims that Liverpool and Juve are ready to strike.

Soler is described as the perfect replacement for Gini Wijnaldum at Anfield. However, he would provide even more of a goal threat from midfield, something Jurgen Klopp is seeking from that department.
