Men’s Soccer Announces 2022 Spring Schedule


UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men’s soccer program has announced its 2022 Spring schedule, featuring seven exhibition matches ranging from March 19-April 22.
 
First, the Nittany Lions will play USL League Two team FC Motown starting at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19 at Montclair State.
 
Next, Penn State will travel to American University on Saturday, March 26 for a 2 p.m. match. The Eagles went 9-5-4 in 2021, which included a 3-1 loss to No. 17 Penn State on Sept. 6 at Jeffrey Field.
 
The Nittany Lions will stay home for the remainder of their spring exhibition schedule starting first with a Saturday, April 9 double header with Millersville beginning at 2:30 p.m. and Seton Hall at 5 p.m.
 
Millersville won its third-straight PSAC Championship last season and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals before falling to No. 5 Charleston (W.Va.) 2-1 in double overtime.
 
Seton Hall finished the 2021 fall season 6-8-3 overall and 2-7-1 in the Big East Conference.
 
The following weekend, PSU will host another double header this time welcoming Robert Morris at 2:30 p.m. and Cornell at 5 p.m.
 
RMU closed out the 2021 season 5-11-1 and 4-5-1 in the Big South. Meanwhile Cornell finished the season 11-3-2 and 4-2-1 in the Ivy League.

Finally, the Blue & White close out their spring schedule by hosting Lock Haven at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 22.

 

Lock Haven completed the 2021 campaign 13-4-2 overall and fell to Post in the NCAA first round.

The Penn State men’s soccer team had a historic fall 2021 campaign that included both the Big Ten regular season and Tournament championship crowns. The Nittany Lions went 13-7-1 overall and 6-2-0 in the Big Ten and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
